Elephants and their many uses

Elephants are very interesting. They are incredibly intelligent creatures, and rather strong. After seeing their power at the hands of the carthigians, we Romans figured we would test their limits. They are smart enough to pull off circus stunts, fight in the pits, and serve as instruments of war. The ways they were captured were... inhumane. Certainly today, the view of how elephants were tamed would be seen as harsh and unjust, although, elephants are still poached heavily by humans.
