Chapter Eleven: Remedies Derived from the Dead
There have been rumors of a deads person whose hand has been struck by lightining, stroking the neck of a person with tooth distress and curing it upon touch. I will say that perhaps the dead may offer some ailment to our health. Only if they are the same sex will this miracle work. Little is known as how this phenomena may occur but our suspicions hold true.
The dead do offer help in western medicine, however, the dead offer help in ways Pliny would never imagine. First, the dead are used in anatomy, or mapping out the body. They exist in the form of cadavers and are preserved in chemical fluids and body bags. Possibly, microbes could be of use from the dead body but it may not be so relevant. The dead are only used in the cycle of life restoring energy back into the spectrum. And Second, immediate post-death organs can be used for others if preserved properly. However, those organs can be rejected by the body. Tissues of the dead body can be transplanted but it has to be done properly. So the phenomena where a dead body touches you may just be entirely due to chance or other figures not entirely causing the cure.
