Animals of Imperial Rome
In this part of the exhibit we explore the animals that live in Rome as a product of its imperial nature. As the Roman empire expanded so did the importation of animals. The Romans expansion into the rest of the world might have been beneficial to the Romans but not to everyone else. The imperial nature of the Romans degraded the rest of the world in specific ways. In some regions they overhunted animals and in others they took animals to be exploited in Rome itself.
