Mythical Explanations for the Propagation of Animals
Opposite to the provious section, this part of the exhibit looks to reveal the mythical explanations that Pliny had for the natural phenomenon seen in Rome. It hones in on more specifically the mythical explanations for how animals come to exist. This reveals the mythical underpinnings of Roman society and the lack of scientific resources to explain the world around them. It is not due to a lack of knowledge or abilities but, rather, a lack of resources to observe and properly measure what is occurring around them. Future generations looking at us will, of necessity, have finer tools and resources around them which will reveals scientific truths that we have no capability of knowing.
