Parts of animals used by Romans

This part of the exhibit moves past how Romans exploited animals and delves into what exactly they took from animals for their own use. It is apparent throughout this page that Romans uses for animal products were not of necessity but of luxury and exhibiting wealth. Pay close attention to, once again, which animals are portrayed and what is used. We, in our times, use similar animals in similar ways but have propagated that issue to more exploitive methods.
