Scientific explanations of propagation of animals

This section of the exhbit looks to explore the scientific basis for animal propagation. Pliny's text contains in it a duality of scientific and mythical explanations for the creation of animals. It is, overall, revealing of the growing movement towards ovbservational sciences and away from mythical propositions. The juxtaposition between both explanations throughout Book 8, however, still reflect how this was not a smooth transition but one that would take centuries.
